Our vision is to be a leading educational institution in Ghana that provides an all rounded, world class education to its pupils of whom 20% will be on need based financial assistance.
Our History
The McCarthy Hill School (TMHS) was founded in September 2008 to provide affordable, quality education to children in the catchment area.
The school, formerly a weekend and after school programme, known as Explore and Discover, was started in 2005. Explore and Discover was set up by Lydia Anno to provide children in her community a safe space to explore their environment while discovering their individual interest and aptitudes.
Following her experiences as a parent, she set out to create a school small enough to meet the needs of each individual child but big enough to provide a range of resources and facilities. She also had the vision to have the school attract families with the means while giving the opportunity to the less privileged in the community.
In September 2008 when the school opened its doors with a population of 18 children, 6 of whom were from the Osu Children’s Home. From its inception, TMHS accepted children with diverse learning needs ensuring they were supported.
